Preparation
Step 1
Take a large wine glass (Spritz glass) and pack it generously with fresh ice cubes.
Bartender's tip
A Spritz needs space. A large wine glass allows the elderflower and the botanicals to breathe, while plenty of ice ensures a freezing drink that won't melt too quickly in the sun.
Step 2
Pour 50 ml of Sober Spirits G 0.0% and 15 ml of elderflower syrup directly over the ice, then give it a quick stir.
Bartender's tip
Elderflower syrup is heavy and sinks. By stirring it with the spirit before adding the water, you ensure every single sip is perfectly balanced!
Step 3
Top with 100 ml of chilled sparkling water and stir very gently just once by lifting the ice.
Bartender's tip
For a great Spritz, effervescence is key! Tilt the glass slightly to pour the water down the side, and avoid over-stirring to keep the bubbles alive.
Step 4
Slide a lime slice into the glass and crown the cocktail with a beautiful sprig of fresh mint or elderflower.
Bartender's tip
The famous "Mint Slap": place the mint in the palm of your hand and give it a sharp, gentle smack before garnishing. This instantly wakes up the essential oils without bruising the leaves!
