There is no added syrup: the sweetness comes from the strawberry and from the tonic water. Both Sober Spirits Aperitivo Spritz 0.0% and Sober Spirits G 0.0% are sugar-free. Choosing a sugar-free tonic brings the drink down to the sugar of a single strawberry.

Slice it rather than muddle it. Crushed strawberry clouds the drink and leaves pulp in every mouthful; sliced and left to infuse in the glass, it perfumes the spritz gradually and still looks like a garnish. If you want more fruit, add a second strawberry rather than crushing the first.
