Stunning Cocktail #5: Alcohol Free Mai-Tai with the great taste of rum.
Take a Short Drink or whisky glass, also called Old Fashioned.
Pour half a squeezed lime directly into the glass, cut the half lemon into quarters after squeezing and put the pieces into the Short Drink glass.
Then add 1 cl of orgeat syrup, fill your glass with ice and add 6 cl of Sober-Rum 0,0%.
Mix well at the bottom and decorate with a lemon peel, a toasted almond (whole or sliced) or an edible flower.
Cheers!
Born from the inventiveness of Victor J. Bergeron in 1944 in his restaurant-bar Trader Vic's in Oakland during the visit of Tahitian friends, the Maï-Taï is today a great classic of any good cocktail bar.
During the serving of this cocktail created especially for friends from Tahiti, one of them, Carrie Guilde, shouted after tasting it "maita'i roa ae" which means "Very good" in Tahitian. This cry of joy gave the cocktail its name.
It wasn't until a little over a decade later that Mai-Tai became very popular and a must-have when Elvis Presley made it his signature cocktail in the movie Blue Hawaii between 1950 and 1960.
